Privacy Policy: Runtime Calculator Chrome Extension

Last updated: 23 July 2026

This policy covers the Portable Power Station Runtime Calculator browser extension for Google Chrome, published by portable-powerstation.co.uk. It does not cover this website, which has its own privacy policy.

The short version

The extension collects nothing. It sends nothing anywhere. It works entirely offline. Your settings are saved on your own device and stay there.

What the extension stores

So that the calculator remembers where you left off, it saves the following on your own computer using Chrome's local storage:

  • Selected battery capacity, including a custom capacity if you entered one
  • Appliance wattage
  • Output type (AC, DC or USB)
  • Inverter efficiency setting
  • Battery reserve setting
  • Inverter limit setting
  • Your light or dark theme choice

That is the complete list. All of it is ordinary calculator input, none of it identifies you, and it never leaves your device.

What the extension does not do

  • It does not collect personal information
  • It does not use analytics or tracking of any kind
  • It does not use cookies
  • It does not make network requests, so nothing is sent to us or to anyone else
  • It does not read the pages you visit, and it has no permission to do so
  • It does not record your browsing history
  • It does not show adverts
  • It does not sell or share data, because it holds none to sell or share

Permissions we request, and why

The extension requests one permission: storage.

This is what allows it to remember your settings between sessions. It grants access only to the extension's own local storage area. It does not grant access to your browsing data, your files or any website you visit.

We request no host permissions, so the extension cannot read or alter any web page.

Where your data lives

In Chrome's local storage on your device. If you sign into Chrome with sync enabled, Chrome may sync extension storage across your own devices under your Google account. That is handled by Chrome under Google's privacy policy, not by us, and we have no access to it either way.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes everything it has stored. There is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete, because we never receive it.

Children

The extension is a general purpose calculator suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Third parties

The extension bundles no third party code, no libraries, no fonts and no analytics. Everything it runs is contained in the extension package.

Affiliate disclosure

Our website earns commission through affiliate links when readers buy through them. The extension itself contains no affiliate links, no adverts and no tracking. It does not know or care whether you have ever visited our site.

Changes to this policy

If the extension ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Any change that introduced data collection would also require a new permission, which Chrome would prompt you to review before it took effect.
